Seedlings need housing to meet their safety needs. When you start the game, your Seedling will be located within one of the campus buildings within your society. Your Seedling will be fine here for 48 real-world hours. After this, your safety needs will start to decrease, which means your Seedling wants to have a home of its own! You can do this by renting or buying a plot and building your home. 

How to rent a property:

Each society has many rentable apartments, ready and waiting for your Seedling to move in! You can open the Real Estate Market using the menu at the bottom of your screen. Select a plot on the map, click To Purchase details and select the small dot next to “rent” to bring up all the properties available. You can look through the available properties and locations, and when you’re ready, you can select the property, choose the Seedling you want to rent the apartment from the drop-down, and then you’re ready to rent!  You can click on the property and assign your Seedling to move in by selecting the + Add button to assign your Seedling as the resident. 

You can't change ownership of a rented building. You can only terminate the contract. If you want to rent a building from your business, follow the steps above but choose your business name as the renter.

How to buy a plot: 

Open the Real Estate Market, select a plot on the map, click To Purchase details and select the Buy dot. This will show all the available plots of land. You can then choose your business as the buyer and proceed to buy. Once you have bought your plot, you can start building! You can start small and add to the building later when you have saved up more funds. To build, you will need to access the plot, which is located under the Properties icon, and select the plot. You will then be prompted to build. You can choose the building style (how it looks), add windows, doors, internal rooms, and internal doors, and even paint the floors and walls! Once you’re happy with the design (remember, everything costs Seed Coins, so don’t build too much at first!), the building window will tell you how many bricks are needed to complete the build. 

Once you have built the property you can find it in the Properties app. Within this, you can click on the property and assign your Seedling to move in by selecting the + Add button to assign your Seedling as the resident. 

NOTE: You can have a business and home on the same plot. However, they can't be in the same building.

How to build on a plot:

Once you have bought your plot, you can start building! You can start small and add to the building later when you have saved up more funds. To build, you will need to access the plot, which is located under the Properties icon, and select the plot. You will then be prompted to build. You can choose the building style (how it looks), add windows, doors, internal rooms, and internal doors, and even paint the floors and walls! Once you’re happy with the design (remember, everything costs Seed Coins, so don’t build too much at first!), the building window will tell you how many bricks are needed to complete the build.

If you have more than one level on your building, you will need to add an elevator or the construction will not be allowed. The elevator can be found on the internal tab of the building tool.

Then head to the Materials tab within the Store, order the bricks, and they will be delivered to your new plot. As soon as they arrive, your home will be built! Please remember to select the new plot as the delivery location when you order the bricks! 

Inbox/Outbox: Every building has an Inbox (where goods are delivered) and an Outbox where outgoing goods are collected.

Now that you have rented or built your first home, it’s time to furnish it! To do this, you can open the Furniture tab within the Store and see the different items you can buy. Top tip: The main things your Seedling will need are a bed, somewhere to sit (a sofa, beanbag, or small chair), and a shower, which is always helpful. 

When you buy the furniture, it will be delivered to your inbox. To view this, click on the building itself or use the Properties icon to select the building. You can then use the inventory tab to see the items in your inbox. Select the item and choose the Place option. 

Placing furniture: 

You can place the furniture in any location within your property, rotate it by pressing CTRL + Q/E, and change floors by pressing CTR + Scroll.
