Choosing Your Society

After creating your Seedling, you'll face one of the most important decisions in SEED—selecting which society to join:

Society Selection Screen

Browse Available Societies: Each society has its own culture, constitution, and community. Take time to read about their goals, values, and current projects.

View Society Details: Click for more information about each society's population, leadership structure, and economic focus. Some societies emphasize trade, others focus on research, and still others prioritize community building.

Population Considerations: We recommend societies with 10-20 Seedlings for the best new player experience. Smaller societies might lack infrastructure, while very large ones can feel overwhelming for newcomers.

Making Your Choice

Consider these factors when selecting a society:

  • Community Culture: Does the society's described culture match what you're looking for?
  • Activity Level: Are there enough active players to provide social interaction and economic opportunities?
  • Infrastructure: Does the society have basic amenities like food production and housing?
  • Growth Stage: Are you interested in building from the ground up, or joining an established community?

What Happens Next

Once you've selected a society, your adventure begins:

Arrival: Your Seedling will be transported to that society and emerge from the "Kernel"—a small spacecraft that serves as the arrival point for new community members.

Starting Location: They'll appear in the society's designated starting area, usually near the Campus (society headquarters) where you can find essential services and information.

Ready to Begin: You'll be ready to start your life on Avesta, with your Seedling positioned to begin exploring their new world and building relationships with their neighbors.
