Business Guide

SEED allows you to create your own business. This means you can craft and sell goods, create activity locations, hire (and fire) other Seedlings, and create whatever type of business your tycoon heart desires!

How to set up a business:

To start a business, choose the Properties app and select new business on the left-hand side. Starting a business will cost 300 Seed Coins and will always be named after your username + Inc.

When you start a business, you have two options of business locations. These will be where your business operates from. You can choose to:

Buy a plot:

Open the Real Estate Market, select a plot on the map, click To Purchase details and select the Buy dot. This will show all the available plots of land. You can then choose your business as the buyer and proceed to buy. Once you have bought your plot, you can start building! You can start small and add to the building later when you have saved up more funds. To build, you will need to access the plot, which is located under the Properties icon, and select the plot. You will then be prompted to build. You can choose the building style (how it looks), add windows, doors, internal rooms, and internal doors, and even paint the floors and walls! Once you’re happy with the design (remember, everything costs Seed Coins, so don’t build too much at first!), the building window will tell you how many bricks are needed to complete the build.

NOTE: You can have a business and home on the same plot. However, they can't be in the same building.

Rent a plot:

You can open the Real Estate Market using the menu at the bottom of your screen. Select a plot on the map, click To Purchase details and select the small dot next to “rent” to bring up all the properties available. You can look through the available properties and locations, and when you’re ready, you can select the property, choose the business name or Seedling you want to rent the apartment from the drop-down, and then you’re ready to rent!

Top Tip: You can't change the ownership of a rented property.

Like your Seedling, your business has its own funds, which you can access through the Business Wallet. To view this, open the Properties app, select your business, and click the finance tab. This will show you all the money in and out of your business! You can even use this to transfer money to other Seedlings. You can also hire other Seedlings to work for your business! To do so, open the Properties app, click on your business location, and then click the Employees tab. Here, you can create job listings. You can give the job a job title, daily wage, shift hours, and also, if you require any special skills for the job. When you hit add, the job will appear in the Job Market, where other Seedlings can apply.

Crafting:

Your business can craft many different items, from furniture, food, clothes, machines, textiles, and many other things! You have the choice to make any type of business your heart desires. To craft, you need some basic things:

Note: You can craft without a business if you want to craft things for your home; however, you can’t sell crafted goods without a business.

Machines:

Seedlings use machines to craft different items. The first machine to buy is a Crafting Table, which can be bought from the Shop. This machine allows you to craft other machines and some items. When you purchase it, it is delivered to your inbox, ready for you to place in your business. Once you place the machine, you can browse to see what is produced! To do this, open your business from the Properties app, click on the production tab, select the Crafting Table, and select New Task. You will then be shown the blueprints for the different things that can be crafted. The blueprints will show what materials are needed for crafting and what you will get once the craft is complete. You can buy materials from the Store if they are in stock, or sometimes you must craft your own!

Crafting is possible for many machines, products, and everything in between. Make sure you check out our Discord, as many players have posted their own crafting instructions!

Buy and sell orders:

You can use Buy-and-Sell Orders to sell your products on the market or buy items your business needs. To do this, open your business in the Properties app and select the Market tab.

Within the Market tab, you can see a few different things:

Buy Orders:

This is where you can set up an automatic buy order. To do so, click the Add button, type the name of the item, enter the max amount you want to have in your storage, set the max price (check the shop for the current price of items as a guide), and then select the buyer (who’s wallet pays for the order). Buy orders happen twice per in-game day. At 12 and midnight. An example of how this works: You set up a buy order for 10 fries; this means that every day, you will automatically buy fries until there are 10 in your inventory.

Sell Orders:

This is where you can set up an automatic sell order. To do so, click the Add button, type the name of the item, enter the max amount you want to have in your storage, set the max price (check the shop for the current price of items as a guide), and then select the buyer (who’s wallet pays for the order). Sell orders happen twice per in-game day. At 12 and midnight. An example of how this works: You set up a sell order for 10 lumber; every day, the system will check your stock for lumber and sell it. Please note: Your items will only sell if they are in demand.

Offers:

Here, you can see what items are currently being offered on the Market, as well as their costs.

Demand:

This is where you can see what items are in demand by the NPC and other Cultivators (players). The NPC market has several items it requests, and you can see what it needs, the price, and how many items it needs.

Contracts:

This is where you can create contracts with other Cultivators (players). Contracts allow you to set up agreements with other players either within your own society or across other societies. You can set up contracts by choosing the New Contract button to open the New Contract window. Here you have a few options:

  • Title: The name of the contract (you can choose any title you want)
  • Second Party: This is the business name to which you are sending the contract. You can type in the name or select it from the drop-down menu. Once selected, you must choose which branch to deliver the goods to.
  • Trade Valuable: You select which products and/or money are in the contract. For example, 200 Plaxin for 2,000 SeedCoin.
  • Contract Conditions: Here, you can set rules for your contract, like adding fines if the contract is not completed on time! This would be payable if the goods are not delivered on time.
  • Time Constraints: This is where you can decide whether you want this contract to happen once, once per day, twice per day, or whatever you desire.

Once a contract has been sent to you, you will receive a notification, and you can see the active, completed, and open contracts in the Market section of your business.  You can trade between societies or within your society using contracts.

Employee Management  Task Prioritization System

  • You can set specific Objects (like a certain type of Machine) or Activities as priorities. When the conditions are right, your Seedlings will focus on these tasks first!
  • This system works at the "Job" level, allowing multiple Seedlings to share the same Job while each can hold more than one Job at a time.
  • We also have a brand new performance tracking feature, which lets you see how well your Seedlings are doing at work, including the number of tasks they've completed, thanks to the new task system.

Vending Machines:

You can equip your business with vending machines! They allow you to sell food items directly to other Seedlings. To do this, you must:

  • Buy a vending machine from the Store
  • Place it in your business
  • Click on the Services tab within your business
  • Add items to your vending machine and set the price

Now Seedlings can buy the goods from the vending machine when they are in your business.

You can also set up a business that is more focused on providing a place for other Seedlings to hang out. Imagine it like setting up your own cafe, book store, or even your own cinema. To do this, you can charge Entry Fees for other Seedlings who enter your business. To set these up, click on the Services tab within your business, set the fee, and then toggle the entry button to open for visitors. This means when Seedlings are exploring the colony, and if your business provides something they need (rest, fun, reading, studying, etc), they will pay to visit!
